How mannequins are solving the social distancing dilemma: Compilation of best funny pictures that shows the reality of a post pandemic world
While the threat of COVID-19 pandemic is far from over, many countries across the world are relaxing their quarantine measures as the number of people infected with the deadly virus has decreased. As of 19th of May, there are almost 5 mil confirmed cases, 320,326 deaths and almost 2 mil people have recovered.
Countries that have been affected the most are US, with 92.017 deaths, UK – 34,796 and Italy with 32,007 deaths at the time of writing.
However, as we see in the following graph, according worldometers.info, the number of deaths reported daily is decreasing, which means that the quarantine measure that have been implemented are starting to have a positive effect.
As a result, we see many restaurants that are starting to open their doors. For example, a three-Michelin star restaurant in the US state of Virginia has found a fun -- or creepy, depending on your tastes -- way to enforce social distancing: costumed mannequins seated among the guests.
Because guests may feel lonely eating at a restaurant that can only reach 50% capacity – the maximum mandated by Virginia’s social distancing regulations – the restaurant will be placing mannequins in dining rooms.
“When we needed to solve the problem of social distancing and reducing our restaurant’s occupancy by half, the solution seemed obvious – fill it with interestingly dressed dummies,” Patrick O’Connell, the star chef who heads the restaurant, told a Fox 5 DC, a local news station.
“I’ve always had a thing for mannequins – they never complain about anything, and you can have lots of fun dressing them up.”

Mannequins, stuffed animals, prerecorded crowd sounds and life-size cardboard cutouts are some of the ways that restaurants, sports matches and retailers are seeking to ease social distancing as premises reopen.

Fish Tales in Ocean City, Maryland, plans to add "bumper tables" to its restaurant. The table, designed for social distancing, is on wheels and features a giant inner tube.

As more people are working remotely due to the Coronavirus quarantine, employees are finding creative ways to appear more online than they actually are.
For example, today most companies are using Zoom Meetings for their daily meetings. For those who are not familiar with Zoom, it is an app that allows people to hold video conferences. Here at Bemorepanda we also use Zoom and we love it!
Ok, so far all good. But, for those who does not know, there’s a feature on Zoom that can tell hosts if chat participants have navigated away from the active window for more than 30 seconds. In other words, your computer narcs you out to your boss when you’re paying more attention to funny animal videos than you are to the meeting. This means that during meetings or online classes, if you think you can switch apps while the other person talks, the app will tell on you.
However, it seems that some Zoom users have gotten pretty creative with how they are beating the app’s feature, where some have created looping videos to make it look like they’re paying attention, while others have created a custom background which features their still image.
As far as the host is concerned, they will think you’re still in the meeting, but you in reality, you can do whatever you like, like lying on your bed, playing games, eating or just nothing. Zoom Meetings was founded in 2011 by Eric Yuan, a lead engineer from Cisco Systems and its collaboration business unit WebEx.
The company went public in April, 2019 and at that time, it was valued at $16 billion. In early 2020, usage of Zoom increased sharply as schools and companies adopted the platform for remote work in response to the coronavirus pandemic, rising 67% from the start of the year to mid-March.

Even when the world is trying to find a cure for the deadly coronavirus pandemic, a new virus is threatening our society.
A report in Global Times said that a man from China's Yunnan province died from Hantavirus while on a bus to the Shandong province. Other 32 people on bus were also tested and now everyone is waiting for the results.
What is Hantavirus?
The Centre for Disease Control says that the virus is spread mainly from rodents. It goes on to say that infection with any of the hantavirus can cause hantavirus disease in people.
"Hantaviruses in the Americas are known as “New World” hantaviruses and may cause hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS). Other hantaviruses, known as “Old World” hantaviruses, are found mostly in Europe and Asia and may cause hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome.
It can cause hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) and haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).
The disease is not airborne and can only spread to people if they come in contact with urine, feces, and saliva of rodents and less frequently by a bite from an infected host.
Symptoms of hantavirus
Early symptoms of HPS include fatigue, fever, and muscle aches, along with headaches, dizziness, chills and abdominal problems. If left untreated, it can lead to coughing and shortness of breath and can be fatal, with a mortality rate of 38 percent, according to CDC.
While the initial symptoms of HFRS too remain the same, it can cause low blood pressure, acute shock, vascular leakage, and acute kidney failure.
However, aside from the negative news coming from China, some Twitter users woke up from their quarantine naps to find #HantaVirus trending. And here are their reactions:
