who-said-quarantine-should-be-boring-the-sensational-idea-of-a-mother-to-avoid-routine

Who said that isolation at home during the COVID-19 pandemic must be boring, become a nightmare and a torment?  Young mother Rachael Havenhand woke up locked up in the house with her two 8- and 5-year-old daughters and had a sensational idea.

While most of the countries are starting to each quarantine restrictions, there are still many families that are scared to go out and return to their old life. According to wordmeters.info, there are currently almost 5 million confirmed cases and more than 323.715 deaths, while around 2% of those people infected are either in serious or critical condition.

On top of the list, we see the US with 93,110 deaths, followed by the UK with 35,681 cases and Italy with almost 33.000 victims. The good news is that we see the number of new infections going down, which means that the quarantine restrictions that have been implemented are starting to take effect.

As the gyms and fitness centers are yet to stay closed for the foreseeable future, Rachael Havenhand (28) from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK, is a fitness instructor and has been forced to stay home for two weeks now.  Since mid-March, the British government has ordered the closure of cinemas and theaters.

Self-isolated overnight with her two daughters Gabriella (8 years old) and Florence (5 years old), Rachael took her cellphone and bought a lot of "decorative nonsense" from eBay.  She did not spend more than 300 pounds and woke up to the door with over 200 kg of brightly colored objects.

 Helped by the two little girls, the mother got on the job and turned the oppressive and colorful house anost in beige and cream shades into a real Barbie doll house.

"We spend a lot of time in the kitchen because here girls do their homework and here they spend 4-5 hours a day preparing snacks or food.  So I started the decorations with the kitchen, then followed the hall, the living room, the stairs and the bedroom, ”Havenhand told the Daily Mail.

 After the house was filled with colors, the mood of the house changed radically.  The colors he used were pink, purple, green with several shades, blue, cherry and yellow.

And because the entire house has become a toy for the three housewives, they continue to use their creativity to the full and still paint the walls with abstract shapes and childish designs, which, later, Mother Rachael transforms into murals.  Obviously, after the girls fall asleep.

how-to-distract-a-child-from-a-smartphone-and-tv-during-quarantine

5 ideas that only need paper, pencils and pens. Children during quarantine are easily getting boring. That’s why, Bemorepanda decided to collect the best games for children and parents to play during quarantine.

 1. Consequences

 A fun and simple game in which you need to create stories.  Each person takes a piece of paper, writes one adjective on top.  Then he folds the paper to close the word, and transfers it to another player in a circle.  On a new sheet you need to write a name.  Then the actions are repeated.

 The order further should be as follows:

 another adjective;

 one more name;

 scene;

 what the characters do;

 what the first said to the second;

 what the second answered;

 what happened after;

 what people thought.

 Words can change, for example, instead of the names of people, you can write the names of animals.  You can also add additional moves, for example, indicate what was worn on the person.  Try to come up with funnier options to make the story as fun as possible.

2. Puppet theater

 To make dolls yourself, cut out the drawn figures or pictures from magazines and glue a thin (3-4 cm) strip of paper to their back.  Glue or staple the ends of the strip.  Now, improvised dolls can be put on your finger and play with them any funny scenes.  And if you have a printer, dolls can be printed.

 You can also put a real theatrical performance at home.  To do this, you need to come up with a fun story, draw or print masks of heroes (for example, fairy-tale characters or animals), put them on your faces and get used to the role.

 3. Dots and squares

 Ideally, a piece of paper is needed for the game.  Draw a wide square - this is a playing field.  Take two multi-colored felt-tip pens or a pencil.  The first player draws a line two cages in length anywhere inside the field.  Then the other player must do the same.

 If there is no sheet in the cage at hand, use the usual one.  Draw a playing field, and inside at the same distance - about 1 cm - place the dots.  The move will be the connection of two points with a horizontal or vertical line.

 Your task is to paint over all or almost all of the edges of the cell with your own color: 3 or 4 edges - your cell, if 2 by 2 - it goes to the player who set the final line.  Inside the filled square, write the letter of your name.  Whose squares will be more, he won.

 4. Crossword

  Crossword puzzles can be found on the Internet or compiled by yourself.  To make words easier, choose a topic, such as colors, space, or animals.  You can use puzzles as tasks.

 To help your child learn math, you can use examples instead of verbal questions.  But the child will still need to enter answers in the crossword puzzle in words.  For example, 4 + 4 =?  Answer: eight.

 5. Crocodile on paper

 The principle is the same as in the classic game: one participant explains to others the hidden word.  Only it needs to be drawn, not gestured.

 If you play together or three, everyone comes up with his own words.  If you are four or more, guess each other's words one by one: who guesses, he draws as follows.

a-cat-spent-40-days-alone-due-to-quarantine-she-managed-to-survive-and-even-give-birth-to-kittens

In the Chinese city of Wuhan, a cat spent 40 days at home alone, due to the fact that its owners were infected with coronavirus and were hospitalized.

 The owner of a British shorthair cat named Le-Le said that his entire family of seven people became infected with the coronavirus on the eve of the Chinese New Year.  By that time, the cat was at the last stage of pregnancy. When all family members were hospitalized, the owner of Le-Le did not ask others to look after the cat, because in his apartment it was possible to get infected of the deadly infection.

 As a result, Le-Le was left alone in an empty apartment.  The cat managed to survive thanks to two open bags of food that its owner had left before leaving for the hospital.

“I keep turtles and fish at the balcony in the aquarium.  There was also filtered water that the cat could drink !, ”the owner explained.

 Together with his wife, he closed all the windows and doors, in addition to the balcony, before leaving for treatment.

 “After that, we had no idea what was happening in the apartment,” he admitted.

 After 40 days, his wife was discharged from the hospital.  She returned home and found that Le-Le gave birth to four kittens and feels great.  However, the pet ate all the fish in the aquarium.
