Who says you can't look good if you cover most of your face with a face mask?  The rules of protection against infection with the new coronavirus do not prevent the ladies from the royal families or with high positions in the state to be chic.  At the first official engagements during the pandemic, Queen Mathilde of Belgium and the President of Slovakia perfectly matched their protective mask with their clothing.

Queen Mathilde of Belgium (46 years old) recently adopted a bold outfit, with an asymmetrical blouse and intense orange pants, at a meeting with women entrepreneurs from a flower farm.  It is the queen's third public engagement since the quarantine was established in Belgium, a country severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

In fact, the queen's visit to Gediflora aimed to address this topic, the impact of coronavirus on the business in Belgium.  Coquettish, Mathilde accessorized her outfit with oversized earrings, a gold bracelet, a clutch with green finishes and green sandals.

But the most important accessory was the protective mask, which the queen took care to match with the rest of the outfit.

Slovakian president accused of turning a face mask into an aesthetic accessory.

Zuzana Čaputová, the president of Slovakia, made people angry at the end of March, when she matched her protective mask with a garnet dress, during a political event held in Bratislava.  At the time, Slovakia had reported 186 cases of infection with the new coronavirus, and there were many who criticized the president's flirtation.

Other voices have argued that her gesture could be a source of inspiration, especially for young people, who treat the coronavirus pandemic with too much relaxation.  In fact, Zuzana's image was compared to the famous Mileena from "Mortal Kombat".

Known for impeccable clothing taste, Queen Letizia of Spain taught a lesson in adequacy during the coronavirus pandemic.  On a working visit with her husband, King Felipe, on the largest fresh food distribution platform in Spain, Letizia impressed with her sober, practical outfit and perfectly adapted to the new rules of protection.

While interacting with the workers on the platform, Letizia wore a protective mask and black gloves, matched with black pants and blouse.  In fact, at one point, he waved his elbow to avoid direct contact with workers.

how-not-to-wear-a-face-mask-viral-images-with-the-deputy-prime-minister-of-belgium

A recording with Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister, Justice Minister Koen Geens, trying to fit a face mask went viral.  If the minister tried to get out of trouble with a joke about his ears being too big, political opponents immediately made contact with the way the government handled the new coronavirus crisis.

The Brussels Time states that the scene took place during Koen Geens' visit to a workshop in the province of Brabant.  The filmed images show how, due to the fastening system, the minister barely manages to hang his ear mask, reaching first his forehead, then his eyes, and only finally, his mouth and nose.

The one who defended the minister was the author of the Harry Potter series, JK Rowling, who shared the images, saying that she could not laugh at him, because she would do the same and be just as confused and clumsy,  especially if it was filmed.

Belgian Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès has announced that the restrictions will be lifted gradually, starting with May 11th.  First the shops will open, and next week the schools will be reopened, with a limited number of students in each class.

On social media, Pink mentioned that she and her son spent weeks in isolation after testing positive for coronavirus tests, but they both finally tested negative for the infection a few days ago.

"Two weeks ago my three-year old son, Jameson, and I are were showing symptoms of COVID-19," she said on her Instagram page. "Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive. My family was already sheltering at home and we continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative."

She added that she had contributed with $1 million— half of the donation is going to the Emergency Fund for Temple University Hospital and the other part to City of Los Angeles Mayor's Emergency Covid-19 Crisis Fund.

arnold-schwarzenegger-advices-fans-to-stay-home-while-the-novel-coronavirus-pandemic-intensifies

The battle against the novel coronavirus pandemic intensifies, celebrities are using their social networks to urge people to help stop the spread of the virus by practicing social distancing.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who in a posted video is feeding his pet donkey and miniature pony in the kitchen, is consequently asking his fans to consider the safety of everyone around.

In the clip Schwarzenegger is spending quality time with Whiskey the pony and Lulu the donkey while staying at home, the celebrity is arguing that limiting time spent in public isn't all that bad.

"See, the important thing is that you stay at home, because there's a curfew now. No one is allowed out. Especially someone who is, like, 72 years old (referring to himself). After you are 65, you are not allowed out of the house anymore in California. So we stay home and we eat here," Schwarzenegger mentions.

The star is telling his furry friends: "We don't go out, we don't go to restaurants, we don't do anything like that anymore here."

Schwarzenegger told his 4.4 million Twitter followers that they are the one who can protect older people with weaker immune systems and not only, but everyone around so people will not contact the deadly virus.

"Stay at home as much as possible. Listen to the experts, ignore the morons (foreheads). We will get through this together," Schwarzenegger highlighted in his tweet.

the-face-shield-protects-against-coronavirus-no-worse-than-medical-masks

The face shield is very effective. It does not make breathing difficult, and glasses do not fog up.  According to scientists from the University of Iowa, the face shield reduces the risk of contracting COVID-19 by 96% if an infected person coughs in your face.  And even if you contact the patient for 30 minutes, the shield will protect you by 80%.

For comparison: the effectiveness of disposable medical masks ranges from 60 to 75%.  For homemade fabric masks, this number varies depending on the material, from 40 to 90%, and for a respirator reaches 95%.

The face shield does not need to be washed and wait until it dries, it can be disinfected with soap and water or a 70% solution of alcohol, as recommended by use of personal protective equipment for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and considerations regarding the situation of their acute shortage of WHO.  And it is reusable, unlike surgical masks.  Yes, and it interferes with touching your face.

For optimal protection, the visor should completely cover your chin and forehead, so choose the right size.  Ideally, the shield should be worn with the mask.  So you cover both your mouth and face skin and eyes.

If you do not know where to buy such a shield, you can make it yourself with a simple instruction.

who-updates-mask-recommendations

Now they are advised to wear not only sick.

WHO Director-General Tedros Hebreyusus, during a new COVID-19 briefing, announced new recommendations for the prevention of coronavirus.  Here are the main points:

  •  Doctors and other medical staff should always wear masks, regardless of whether they work with infected coronavirus infections or not.
  •  People over 60 years of age, as well as those who have chronic diseases, are advised to wear masks wherever it is impossible to maintain physical distance.
  •  The governments of the countries should encourage the wearing of masks in any places where it is impossible to maintain physical distance, especially for public transport and shops.

  •  Those with symptoms similar to coronavirus infection should stay at home.  All who contacted him should be quarantined.
  •  If a sick person or someone who has contacted him needs to leave the house, he must wear a mask.
  •  WHO considers masks to be of high quality, which consist of three layers of different materials or more.

Previously, the WHO spoke only about the need to wear masks for the sick, because there was insufficient data (apart from clinical studies, which many experts consider to be of little relevance to real life).
