In early September 2020, Walmart launched drone delivery of groceries and household items. The automated drones were created by the Israeli startup Flytrex Aviation and can fly a distance of about 10 km with loads weighing up to 3 kg. They take off from the landing site near the store.
The pilot began in Fayetteville, North Carolina, but if the results are successful, the program will be adapted to other areas. Thus, Walmart is trying to oppose the Amazon Prime service. Drones help reduce the likelihood of contact between customers and couriers, making them an increasingly popular option for businesses during a pandemic.
On the other hand, Amazon has not created any alliances like Walmart did and had built its own exclusive technology for drone delivery, which got approved by Federal Aviation Administration in late August to operate a fleet of Prime Air delivery drones.
So, as the war between the world largest retail companies heats up with drone deliver, let's have a look at how they compare:
1.The property of drones
Amazon’s robotics team has built its own drones and received certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in late August to operate a fleet of Prime Air delivery drones.
Walmart contracts its drones from Flytrex (which are already part of the FFA’s UAS Integration Pilot Program), they don’t need to apply for direct certification.
2.Workers
Walmart hires workers with low human productivity with low wages of 2.1 M.
Amazon is hiring high-wage workers with high wages of 150K to work in contact with a growing number of automated smart machines. The ideal company is the one that does not hire people.
3.Growth prospects
Amazon has been regularly upgraded by analysts covering it, while Wal-Mart has recently been downsized. The reason for this is that although both companies are considered "blue chip" stocks, Amazon has much better growth prospects.
4.Stock price
Amazon's stock price already has all the expectations mentioned. If you bought Amazon and waited for the expectations, the price would only increase a little. If you bought Amazon and failed to meet expectations, the price would go down.
In comparison, Wal-Mart is a much safer investment. While the company faces a lot of problems (labor, competition, macroeconomic factors - its customer base tends to be less wealthy), Wal-Mart will not go anywhere in the near future, and its dividend will offset any growth. slow.
5.Profit
Walmart is a classic stock of value. Amazon is a classic growth stock. Measured in accounting or sales, Walmart is more than 5 times larger than Amazon. Walmart's profit margin is 3.19%, while Amazon is -0.2%.
6.Market capitalization
Walmart's earnings per share are 19.32%, while Amazon is -1.86%, but Walmart's most recent quarterly revenue is only 0.1% higher than the same quarter last year. Amazon's quarterly revenue growth is 19.9%
So Amazon's market capitalization is so high because investors believe it will grow up to ten times its current size. This much growth is already "valued" for the current capitalization of the Amazon market.
To understand why investors have so much trust in Amazon and relatively little trust in Walmart.
7.Automatization
Amazon will invest in the future. It moves aggressively to predict what customers will like and change the focus of the content accordingly. This is largely due to its focus on internal analytics and big data, as well as the risk tolerance of connecting to new markets.
However, Walmart emphasizes "cheapness" - the ten-year-old model of importing goods from China and reselling them in the US. It lags behind Amazon in terms of talent and vision.
An Amazon warehouse is increasingly automated, and Walmart is focusing on low-cost temporary workers.
8.Goals and revenue
Amazon is primarily a technology company and second only a retail market. It is limited primarily by its ability to find niches that can grow in new market segments and to complement those segments, rather than the size of retail, directly to the consumer market.
Walmart will continue to be significantly higher than Amazon's direct sales to consumer businesses. However, this will be a small percentage of Amazon's total revenue.
9.Costs
Both services will be able to do same-day deliveries. Walmart Plus will cost practically the same as Amazon Prime ($12.95 vs. $12.99 a month), but Amazon Prime will not include streaming services and media.
10.Markets
While Amazon still dominates the eCommerce market in the United States, Walmart has a giant network of stores nationwide.

Ready for another subscription service? Walmart Plus has arrived, and while it’s already drawing comparisons to Amazon Prime, it’s not really the same. Here's everything you need to know about the new program: price, availability, and more. Let's compare with Bemorepanda.
How much does Walmart Plus cost?
You can pay an annual price of $ 98, or go monthly and pay $ 12.95 (which equates to $ 155.40 a year - obviously not the most cost-effective option). If you’re not sure the service will work, Walmart offers a free 15-day trial.
What’s included with Walmart Plus?
Drawing on the store’s original unlimited delivery option, Walmart Plus will offer “in-store pricing” and “as fast as same-day” delivery on more than 160,000 items. Basically, anything in-store can be on your doorstep in a day or even the same day at no extra charge. However, there is a minimum of $ 35 for deliveries.
Subscribers will also have access to Scan & Go, a feature of the Walmart app that lets you scan items as you go, and then pay for them using Walmart Pay - effectively bypassing the track payment.
There’s also a benefit to gas: you’ll save up to 5 cents a gallon at nearly 2,000 gas stations, and more to come.
How does Walmart Plus compare to Amazon Prime?
In appearance, this is similar to Walmart’s Amazon Prime version: essentially, “free” deliveries for subscribers. And Walmart does it for $ 21 less a year: $ 98 versus $ 119. Amazon also has two grocery corners: the company offers free two-hour delivery (if any) to Prime subscribers at its Whole Foods stores, always with a minimum order of $ 35. There’s also Amazon Fresh, a totally different grocery option that offers same-day delivery (if any) to Prime subscribers - also with that $ 35 minimum.
That said, comparisons stop largely there: while Walmart promises that “the list of benefits will continue to grow over time,” Amazon Prime offers a much wider range of benefits, including a multitude streaming media (music, movies, TV), free e-books and magazines, free PC games, and more.
Is Walmart Plus a good value?
It depends on a number of factors, but in the end, it comes down to whether you live close enough to Walmart to be actually eligible for delivery and how often you plan to enjoy that delivery.
For example, if you usually do your shopping once a week and use Walmart Plus each time, that’s only $ 1.89 a week (based on the $ 98 annual rate) for deliveries. It’s pretty cheap and it also saves you time, especially if you’re already shopping at Walmart. Delivery also reduces your risk of COVID-19 exposure.
The comparison table:
Price
Amazon Prime: $12.99 a month or $119 a year.
Walmart Plus: $12.95 a month or $98 a year
Shipping
Amazon Prime: Subscribers can opt for free two-day shipping on eligible products, free same-day shipping for certain ZIP codes, and free two-hour delivery for certain items and ZIP codes.
Walmart Plus: Unlimited same-day delivery for 160,000 grocery items, tech products, and household essentials.
Order slots
Amazon Prime: Subscribers looking to organize their schedules can establish a weekly delivery day.
Walmart Plus: Whiteside told reporters that the service would not give subscribers priority over non-subscribers for time slots.
Streaming
Amazon Prime: Subscribers receive access to music, films, original TV shows, Twitch benefits, and channels like HBO, Showtime, and Starz.
Walmart Plus: Whiteside indicated to reporters that the subscription service could include entertainment options in the future.
Grocery benefits
Amazon Prime: Subscribers get deals and beneficial delivery options at Whole Foods, as well as free grocery delivery in certain regions.
Walmart Plus: Subscribers have access to an unlimited same-day delivery service for groceries.
Contactless shopping
Amazon Prime: None, though the company's contactless Amazon Go convenience stores are open to the public.
Walmart Plus: Members can access a "Scan & Go" feature through Walmart's app for touch-free checkout.
Gas discounts
Amazon Prime: None.
Walmart Plus: Subscribers can save up to $0.05 per gallon at 2,000 Walmart, Murphy USA, and Murphy Express gas stations.
Clothing
Amazon Prime: Subscribers have access to Prime Wardrobe and personal-shopper services that allow them to try on clothing before purchasing and opt for a monthly styling service.
Walmart Plus: None.

Apple announced the availability of the iOS 14 operating system for the iPhone family of smartphones. The new operating system can be downloaded over the air as a software update.
Among the main innovations implemented in iOS 14 is the application menu: now programs do not take up a lot of desktops, but are automatically grouped into folders in a special section of Apple Library. In addition, for the first time for iOS, you can place widgets on desktops - right next to application icons. Both of these points bring iOS closer to Android in terms of user experience.
Other innovations include a picture-in-picture mode, a voice translator, a completely new interface for incoming calls and Siri, a number of new privacy-related options, and improved sound quality when using AirPods.

Using the palm instead of the bank card: Amazon unveiled on Tuesday the contactless biometric technology that allows customers to pay in the store with a simple movement of the hand. Bemorepanda is impressed!
The Amazon One service will first be available at two of Amazon's Amazon Go convenience stores, where the company is headquartered.
Entrepreneur Jeff Bezos' group plans to add the technology to other grocery stores in the United States (Chicago, San Francisco and New York, among other outlets in Seattle) and sell it to third-party stores, but has not yet announced the name of a potential partner.
The top grocery chain Whole Foods Market, purchased in 2017 by Amazon, could also be equipped in the future with this new payment system.
"In most retail outlets, Amazon One could become an alternative payment method or a loyalty card option with a home device alongside the traditional payment system," Dilip Kumar, vice president for Amazon's retail and technology.
Kumar also informed that Amazon One could be used for public entrance in stadiums or for employees' access to the workplace.
Described by Amazon as "fast, reliable and secure", the technology uses custom algorithms based on a hand image to create a "unique palm signature".
Customers wishing to register must have a mobile phone number and a bank card, but are not required to have an Amazon account.
"We take data security and privacy seriously, and all sensitive data is treated in accordance with our many-year-old policies," the company said.
The online commerce giant insists in particular that the images of the palms will not be stored on Amazon One devices, but encrypted and sent to secure ‘cloud’ spaces.
Users will also have the option to request the deletion of data associated with Amazon One directly from the device or through a dedicated website.
