Italy, represented by the rock band Måneskin, is the big winner of the Eurovision 2021 contest, thanks to the viewers' vote, which completely overturned, on Saturday night, the hierarchy resulting from a first jury from the participating countries. Natalia Gordienko, the representative of the Republic of Moldova at Eurovision 2021, ranked 13th.

The final of the European music competition, which reached its 65th edition, took place in Rotterdam, with 3,500 spectators, after last year's competition was canceled due to the pandemic.

Italy, with the song "Zitti e Buoni", settled at the top of the ranking, which until then was dominated by France and Switzerland, after receiving over 300 votes from the public, the highest score obtained by any participant in this contest.

And Iceland, which before the cancellation of last year's edition was listed as a favorite at Eurovision, with a non-conformist and cheerful group of young people, held close to the first places.

The suspense lasted until the last moment, when televoting decided the winner between Italy and Switzerland. Italy accumulated a total of 524 points.

They were followed by France with 499 points and Switzerland with 432 points. Iceland (378), Ukraine (364), Finland (301), Malta (255), Lithuania (220), Russia (204) and Greece (170) also entered the top 10.

Now, Italy will have to host the next edition of Eurovision Song Contest, in 2022. It is the third time that it has winners and organizes the next show in this capacity. The previous two editions were held in Rome and Naples.
