cinque-terre-italian-riviera-coastline-is-one-of-the-most-beautifull-place-in-the-world-30-photos

Cinque Terre is a national park in Liguria, occupying northwestern Italy. More than 2 million tourists come here every year from all over the world. The main tourist attractions of this park are five villages of enchanting beauty and the multitude of pedestrian routes.

1.

The territory of the Cinque Terre National Park hosts 5 cities: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. In addition, Five Lands are known for their pedestrian routes - the paths lead from one town to another. Towns and pedestrian tourism are described in more detail on the following pages:

1.Vernazza

2.Manarola

3.Monterosso

4.Riomaggiore

5.Corniglia

2.

1.Vernazza

Vernazza is the second of the five cities of the Cinque Terre, it is convenient to come here by train, boat or walk. There must be no difficulties in reaching the destination.

3.

It is an extraordinarily beautiful town in the Gulf of Genoa, small but very picturesque. Here there are many olive trees and vineyards, thanks to an ideal climate: maximum sun and minimum wind. And no matter how tiny Vernazza may seem, here you will always have something to see - you will find tourist attractions, you will simply walk around the town or explore the footpaths!

4.

But what to do in Vernazza a tourist bored of visiting tourist attractions? For example, to admire the Ligurian Sea, to taste Italian delicacies in a small cafe on the seafront or to take a pizza with him, to stop on the rocks next to the quays and to fully feel the Italian atmosphere.

Manarola

From Spezia, Manarola is the second small town in the Cinque Terre. It is easy to recognize, namely here due to the territorial situation the local tower houses were scattered very nicely on a rock that goes out to sea. For this reason, panoramic photos of Manarola are frequently used as a "cover" in Cinque Terre guides. Or, the town really has a unique look.

8.

The rocky manarola whose tourist attractions have been included even in the Book of Records, stands out among the other cities by its "age" - this is the oldest town in the Cinque Terre. We should also mention the "Dark Rock" - an extraordinary slope, located permanently, even at noon, in the shade of a mountain peak ...

9.

Unfortunately, the beach area is almost non-existent here. But does anyone seem to want to sit on the sand, if from Manarola starts the Love Path, famous throughout the Cinque Terre, and right next door is a winery with "vineyards"?

Monterosso Al Mare

It is the largest town in the Cinque Terre. It is located between the heads of Mesco and Manara, from whose suspended rocks you can see the darkness of the sea. It is very easy to get around Monterosso Al Mare - the city itself is "flat", rises on a plain and has a "zonality" not specific to other cities: the rest area Fegina, a modern center with restaurants and confectioneries and the historic part with many buildings medieval.

15.

However, it is not the tourist attractions of Monterosso Al Mare, but the infrastructure of the town that attracts tourists. Because this is a paradise for those who dream of visiting the most hidden Italian lands, but also to live in elite hotels with all amenities and to spend their evenings in entertainment venues.

16.

Monterosso Al Mare will also be liked by beach lovers: these are many in number and the only sandy beaches in this area.

Riomaggiore

Riomaggiore is the first town to welcome tourists from La Spezia. The locality can be conventionally divided into 3 sectors: the station from where the paths to Manarola start; the center of the village, where the paths to the church of Montenero and Portovenere begin; the fishing district. All parts are connected by underground tunnels (entrances are noted on the map) - because the relief here is hilly, so it is the easiest to reach.

21.

The beach in the town of Riomaggiore is set in a picturesque rocky bay. This town also attracts tourists through the famous Path of Love - a sector of the Blue Path, which leaves impressions and offers unforgettable landscapes.

22.

So, take a walk through Riomaggiore, here you will always have a lot to see!

25.

Corniglia

The smallest town in the Cinque Terre is Corniglia, which is why it is often overlooked during a day trip to the Cinque Terre. Corniglia is located between the rocks (100 meters above sea level), at the foot of which is the town station. And directly to Corniglia can be reached on foot by stairs (382 steps) or by bus that runs every 10 minutes after the arrival of the train with tourists. The ticket is included in the Cinque Terre Card. If you do not have it, buy a ticket from the driver (2.50 euros) or at the train station (1.50 euros). And from Corniglia to the train station it is better to get off on foot.
