Who said that isolation at home during the COVID-19 pandemic must be boring, become a nightmare and a torment?  Young mother Rachael Havenhand woke up locked up in the house with her two 8- and 5-year-old daughters and had a sensational idea.

While most of the countries are starting to each quarantine restrictions, there are still many families that are scared to go out and return to their old life. According to wordmeters.info, there are currently almost 5 million confirmed cases and more than 323.715 deaths, while around 2% of those people infected are either in serious or critical condition.

On top of the list, we see the US with 93,110 deaths, followed by the UK with 35,681 cases and Italy with almost 33.000 victims. The good news is that we see the number of new infections going down, which means that the quarantine restrictions that have been implemented are starting to take effect. 

 

As the gyms and fitness centers are yet to stay closed for the foreseeable future, Rachael Havenhand (28) from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK, is a fitness instructor and has been forced to stay home for two weeks now.  Since mid-March, the British government has ordered the closure of cinemas and theaters.

Self-isolated overnight with her two daughters Gabriella (8 years old) and Florence (5 years old), Rachael took her cellphone and bought a lot of "decorative nonsense" from eBay.  She did not spend more than 300 pounds and woke up to the door with over 200 kg of brightly colored objects.

 Helped by the two little girls, the mother got on the job and turned the oppressive and colorful house anost in beige and cream shades into a real Barbie doll house.

"We spend a lot of time in the kitchen because here girls do their homework and here they spend 4-5 hours a day preparing snacks or food.  So I started the decorations with the kitchen, then followed the hall, the living room, the stairs and the bedroom, ”Havenhand told the Daily Mail.

 After the house was filled with colors, the mood of the house changed radically.  The colors he used were pink, purple, green with several shades, blue, cherry and yellow.

And because the entire house has become a toy for the three housewives, they continue to use their creativity to the full and still paint the walls with abstract shapes and childish designs, which, later, Mother Rachael transforms into murals.  Obviously, after the girls fall asleep.

 

 

Frederic Denard, a former employee of the French perfume company Interparfums, sued his € 50 thousand euros for the fact that he was bored at work.  About this writes Newsweek.

 In court, Denard complained of being bored at work and having no tasks to do.  He called his career in the company "a fall into hell" and explained that he always had almost nothing to do.

 “Nobody worried, I will come to work at 9 or 10 in the morning,” the former employee emphasized.  All he had to do was buy some materials, for example, “a couple of sheets of paper”;  on this his working day ended.  Sometimes he performed tasks that had nothing to do with his original duties, the newspaper writes.

 Denar was ashamed to receive a salary for not doing anything.  He began to suffer from depression and felt "destroyed."  A colleague of Denard said in court that at some point, a former employee often began to talk about possible suicide.  Denard himself said that stress from the situation led him to an attack of epilepsy at the wheel.

 Once Denard decided not to come to work anymore, and in September 2014, after seven months of absence, the company fired him.  Then the former employee decided to demand compensation.  He went to court in 2016 and asked for a payment of € 360 thousand. According to the employer, Denard could not make the company realize how bored he was.

 France is known for its laws, according to which employees are not so easy to dismiss, the newspaper notes.  Employees often remain in companies, even if their responsibilities become irrelevant due to, for example, technological progress.  After that, employees hope for resignation because they have almost nothing more to do in the workplace.  According to the publication, now employers will have to ensure that their subordinates do not get bored.
