I will be happy when I graduate…will be happy when I finish college…
I will be happy when I receive a higher salary…
I will be happy when I buy a car…
I will be happy when I buy a house…
I will be happy when I get married…
I will be happy when I have a child…
I will be happy when the older children grow up…
Do you find yourself?
How many times have you postpone your happiness believing that when you reach a certain goal you will finally feel that sense of accomplishment?
Our mind can be a very dangerous trap! We have this "talent" to strongly believe that if we get certain things from you, we will finally levitate your happiness.
Now I want you to think about a material thing or a certain goal that seemed unattainable to you, but which in the end you fulfilled and to think about how happy you were? Or how many days, minutes, or seconds did that state of mind last?
Having goals is wonderful, a man without a purpose is a lost cause, but in the pursuit of something more, be careful not to miss the route.
When I was 15, I thought my life would look completely different at 25, but my expectations did not match reality at all.
I'm fine with what I am now, but I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that when I look around I think I'll be happy when I have what others have: a "perfect" relationship, a beautiful car and a successful career.
I recently had a thought: "be careful not to reach 60 years old and ask yourself if you were happy?".
We all have a different path and every destiny has moments of happiness and moments of pain. Problems are not a choice, but suffering, yes!
I am not able to teach you anything, I just wanted to remind you to open your eyes at least from time to time and to notice the hundreds of reasons for happiness that surround you every day.
